My Care Accessibility Statement

My Care recognises the importance of providing a website that is accessible to all user groups. This includes taking into account a user’s ability and the technology used. We consider accessibility a continuous program of development. If users have difficulties using this site we would encourage them to contact us via the general enquiry form and we will endeavour to rectify the problem.

All information pages on this web site comply with a minimum of the WCAG AA priority 1 and 2 Guidelines and in most cases WGAG AAA priority 3. Enlarging the Page or Font Size

Many browsers now have the facility to enlarge the whole page not just the font size. This has the benefit of keeping the page layout as it was designed. You can access these functions using the browsers menu, mostly found in Tools – Options. The instructions below show you how to enlarge and reduce the page. On older browsers this may only enlarge the font therefore you will see the page layout change. If you just wish to increase the font size this can be done by accessing the settings in Options. This is usually found by accessing the menu Tools –

Options.

  • For Internet Explorer 6+ and Firefox 3+ on PC
  • To enlarge the page hold down the Ctrl key and press the + button.
  • To reduce the page hold down the Ctrl key and press the – button.

For Safari (Mac)

  • To enlarge the page hold down the Apple key and press the + button.
  • To reduce the page hold down the Apple key and press the – button.

All pages are accessed through the main navigation menu and all carry a link back to the home page. You can navigate this website without the use of a mouse by using the arrow keys to scroll, the Tab key to move to the next link and the Backspace key to return to the previous page.

COVID-19 UPDATE - GUIDANCE FOR VISITORS

Dear Relatives and Friends

We can now provide an update in relation to the visiting arrangements within our Care Homes.

As you are aware the Government has now given instructions that visiting can resume to those people who reside within a care facility. This is fantastic news, as we are conscious that this has been a difficult year of worry and distress for many of you, as you have not been able to visit your loved ones in person.

We have of course attempted to facilitate outdoor distanced meetings when weather permitted, and virtual meetings whenever possible, but nothing beats being able to meet and talk face to face. So we are pleased to announce that we will be arranging bookable visits in our homes.

Despite having Government permission to take this step we wish to reassure you that we will take every precaution to maximise safety and minimise risk to residents, staff and yourselves. All visits will be conducted in line with our infection control procedures and our governing body policies and advice.

To maximise the safety of your loved ones during visits and in relation to this the following procedures will be adopted:

• One named person for each Resident will be able to visit on a weekly basis
• Visits are by prior appointment only
• Each visitor must attend 30 minutes prior to their appointment to enable a Lateral Flow test to be processed

Due to the individuality of the layout of our Care Homes and the individual personalities of your loved ones, we are asking that you contact the relevant Care Home for the purpose of gathering information in relation to their specific policies and procedures.

We look forward to welcoming you to our homes very soon and can’t wait to reunite our lovely residents with their loved ones and friends.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

A call for help

My Care is placing a call out for anyone who would be willing to volunteer and help staff in our care homes during the current Coronavirus situation. You may be needed to help with a variety of tasks – delivering simple hydration, help with feeding or possibly with medication.

We are looking to create a RESERVE LIST OF VOLUNTEERS that we only call upon in an emergency situation, to cover other members of staff who are unable to be at work. Any relevant skills may be helpful.

The following conditions will apply:

  • There will need to be a screening process
  • We will pay for your DBS check
  • You may have to help us with a quick reference check
  • We will provide you with an induction and training, some of which may be online

If you can help us that would be fantastic. Initially we are asking you to fill in the form below. All we are asking for is your name and contact details and any relevant experience or attributes you have which you think might make you particularly suitable.

The current situation has placed huge demands on a number of different workforces, particularly the NHS and care homes. We are living through extraordinary times and we may need your help if you are able and willing to give it.

Thank you
